Most of us are aware of the Edna Marley School of Arts in Kingston. I was told recently on one of my investigatory calls, that there is a plan that each parish wil have its own "subsidiary" (my word) of the Edna Manley School of Arts. This is a big step in the right direction, but correct me if I am wrong, our goal is to have the Arts introduced to the students a a young level, giving them the opportunityto be exposed to the arts and see if it provokes some interest or inspiration. Since we are taking on this project, I would encourage us to go all the way and inevitably end up petitioning the powers that be for the arts to be taught at beginner levels in every school. Is every one on the same page, or does anyone have a different opinon or approach. Remember, we have the advantage of this Blog so that we can answer and ask questions.
Please utilize this blog as much as possible. Your blogs, comment and questions is what is going to get us all on the same page, provide an unified front, and then we can approach the schools and request that the students and the teachers write essays as well as sign petitions, and take it from there.
In the meanwhile please keep checking this blog, as you can be kept up to date with the latest drama. If you agree or disagree with any of the blogs posted here, or the occurrence of events, then please comment on the blogs so I may reply as soon as possible.
Also, the more fans we have and the more activity that we will generate will increase our chances of getting someting accomplished. We must do this this in an orderly fashion, and so please send your friends the links so that we may increase our numbers, and thus our voice.
So please keep the input, suggestions aned experiences flowing.
Remember - from little acorns - big oak trees grow.
We can and will make it happen.
